When I became a Christian, I asked God for help on two serious, practical problems. The first was cursing. Almost instantly the cursing went away. My wife said one day, “Pat, you hardly swear at all anymore.”
The other struggle was a temper. But the temper problem wasn’t so easy. Every day I pleaded with God for help—often with tears. But five long years passed before my anger became a normal person’s anger.
Here’s the point: We didn’t get to be the men we are overnight, and we may need to allow some time, perhaps a long time, before we will see our lives the way we want them to be.
Until every church disciples every man...
