There is no pain like child pain. If our children are doing well, all of our other problems will fit into a thimble.

For those of us who are fathers, our main ministry is to disciple our children. In fact, the biblical model for discipleship is a father. Passing life lessons from generation to generation is one of the great themes of the Bible. All other ideas are remedial. Look up Psalm 78 and Deuteronomy 6 sometime. And the main responsibility falls to the fathers.

No amount of success elsewhere will ever be enough to compensate for failing to be a biblical father. The Bible says that God sends prophets to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. Nothing is better for a child than a proper father. Let’s not miss this important message.
