The Power And Presence Of The Holy Spirit

23 Jan 2024

When the Bible says of Abraham, Moses, Joseph, or David, “and God was with him,” what does that mean to us today? It means God did not fling the cosmos into existence and then step aside. He is actively regulating the lunar cycle, the ebb and flow of the tides, and the rising and setting of the sun. But even more than that, when we zoom in for a close-up, we also see His Holy Spirit meticulously guiding people’s lives. We know this because we all know people like Gideon or Nehemiah of whom we can say, “God is with them.” He leads, protects, and provides for them. When we walk in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, they’ll be saying that about us too.
