Because of our faith, we will do what Jesus was doing. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing” (John 14:12).
So what was Jesus doing? He was making disciples. He made disciples three ways. He “called” the lost to believe in and follow Him. He “equipped” new disciples with teaching so they could abide in Him. He “sent” His disciples to love one another, bear much fruit, and make other disciples who would also, in turn, make disciples.
Making disciples is His plan–calling, equipping, sending. Making disciples is how God releases the power of His gospel to change the world. Jesus said, “Go and make disciples.” He had no other plan. So if we are not making disciples, no matter how good our intentions are, we are off plan. Making disciples is what Jesus wants us to do.
