To be a disciple of Jesus is the highest honor to which a man can aspire.
Making disciples is God’s designated way to release the power of His gospel on every problem we face.
Undiscipled believers will almost always become lukewarm in faith, worldly in behavior, and hypocritical in witness.
However we got ourselves into the current situation, the only solution is to disciple our way out.
What is a disciple? Someone “called” to live in Christ, “equipped” to live like Christ, and “sent” to live for Christ.
What is discipleship? Anything that calls someone to live in Christ, equips them to live like Christ, or sends them to live for Christ.
The biggest bottleneck to a healthy church: inspiring and equipping the men who have already been discipled to disciple others.
Giving men the vision–“Go and make disciples”–is first, but not enough. To vision must be added mission, strategy, training, and tools.
Authentic discipleship is to love above all else the God who loves us above all else.
When God puts a man in your path who is stuck, discipleship means finding out why and then helping him solve that problem.
Who has God put in your path who is stuck? Invite them to church or your Bible study this week. It’s the “making disciples” thing to do.
You’re not making disciples until your disciples are making disciples.
Jesus didn’t say, “Come and be discipled.” He said, “Go….”
Many churches are not making disciples. The greater problem is that they think they are.
Discipleship is a system perfectly designed to produce spiritually mature, transformed people.
Making disciples is a big enough idea to give you a purpose for your life.
Anything less than a plan to disciple every willing person is a catastrophic moral failure.
Discipleship is about you. It has to be. You can’t give what you don’t have. But it’s about everybody else too.
Discipleship is the lifeblood of a man, a marriage, a family, a church, and a healthy community.
The single best thing we can do for women and children is to disciple their husbands and fathers to be godly men.
If you want to restore healthy men, take a man under your wing and disciple him into the Gospel of our Lord Jesus.
The hallmark of a true disciple is absolute loyalty to Jesus Christ. Absolute loyalty is not that unusual: marriages, soldiers, ambitions.
Theology is precious, but Jesus didn’t say, “All men will know you are my disciples if you perfect your theology.”
“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples” John 13:35, NLT
The Twelve argued about who was the greatest, and disciples have been arguing about it ever since.
Many faithful leaders want to give up on the church because they get no support or traction for making disciples.
Evangelism without discipleship is cruel.
Discipleship is the process by which men become civilized.
Our men will never be better than the churches that disciple, or don’t disciple, them.
Not every man wants to be discipled, but who’s responsible for those who do?
It takes a long time to become a disciple.
Men’s discipleship is a battle we can win. We cannot, we must not and, by God’s grace, we will not fail.
The first step to every great outcome is to imagine it’s possibility.
Until every church disciples every man…
