Why Did Moses, Abraham, Joseph, David, Nehemiah, and Paul Stay the Course?

23 Jan 2024

Moses could have said, “I’m impressed by this burning bush, but I’m just not going back there. You’ll have to get someone else.”

Abraham could have said, “I like my life the way it is. This place is like Scottsdale. I’m not going anywhere.”

Joseph could have said, “When you brothers sold me away you meant it for evil, and now it’s time for payback.”

David could have said, “That Goliath is really big. I’d better get back home. Dad really needs my help.”

Nehemiah could have said, “I give up. There’s just too much opposition. We can’t finish this wall.”

Paul could have said, “Wow. I thought these people would be more receptive. I give up.”

But they didn’t.

Why? Because they were so utterly convinced they were doing God’s will, they didn’t give up when things got tough.

A man not on a mission has no reason to be brave.
