When I helped start Mission Mississippi 25 years ago, the #1 problem was, “We do not know each other.” Our whole focus was to bring people together so they could talk. People started to genuinely care about each other as they got to know each other personally.
For a cut to heal the two separated parts must be brought into contact with each other. There will never be unity among people who are not having personal conversations.
Mississippi is dramatically different today simply because people started talking to each other. Is there really any other way?
