The tendency in making disciples is to spend 80% of our time trying to make sure the men we want to disciple have the right information and then, maybe, 20% of the time helping them grow in their relationship with God.
But that is backwards. Christianity is primarily and mostly about a relationship with God through Jesus. What we really should be focusing on, I think, is spending 80% of our time helping men have a relationship with God. Most of the time men don’t need to know more nearly as much as they need to be feel like God really does love and care about them, personally. Most of the time, we should be focused on the relationship.
