The tendency in making disciples is to spend 90% of our time trying to make sure our men have the right information or behave correctly and then, maybe, 10% of the time helping them grow in their relationship with God. But that’s backwards.
Christianity is primarily and mostly about a relationship with God through Jesus. What we really should be focusing on, I think, is spending 90% of our time helping men have a relationship with God. Most of the time men don’t need to know more nearly as much as they need to be feel like God really does love and care about them, personally.
Men behaving badly is not an information problem. It’s a relationship problem. Most of the time, we should be focused on the relationship.
